I'm in Mannheim on route to Berlin. Had a lovely and pretty uneventful day in Paris today. Went to the Musee de Orangiere to see the Monets, it was amazing, they nearly made me cry. But if you do visit make sure that you also head downstairs, it's cool.
I booked the quiet carriage on the train from Paris to Berlin because i reckoned that I could do with some sleep. After finding my seat despite the best efforts of the conductor who had me dragging my bag back and forth up and down the train like a right Muppet I found my seat. The man beside me at every stop, well at the four of them poked me and said Frankfurt, I said no and then looked really angry with me. I felt bad and tried in baby English/French/German to explain that yes the train was going to Frankfurt but that that particular station was not Frankfurt. Anyway we made friends over some sauerkraut and pepperoni which he insisted on me having.
And talking of diets, I have decided to go back on my Prague diet. For those of you not familiar the Prague diet is one meal a day consisting of carbs, and protein; beer and lots of water. I will aim for the no fruit and veg thing but now that I'm a bit older I think I should look into getting some supplements. God, I am such a nerd.
Feeling much better now anyway, and i know that I will look back on these first days at a later time and smile ...
