Problems in mongolia

When I got here yesterday I changed money, $150, I'm not sure why i changed so much but i did, and now i can't spend it to save my life. I had a three course dinner last night, and two large JD and cokes and it was only $15 dollars. I went to the supermarket earlier to get some food for the train tomorrow and it was only $2. Anyway, c'est la vie, hopefully i will just be able to change it in China or else give it to the next Blake who visits here.
Well update on the weather, it is freaking freezing here. The sun is shining and it looks lovely but OMG it is sooooo cold and it's really bright. The altitude is 1350metres so i suppose almost the same as Denver. That's why it's so bright.
Visited the national Buddhist temple this morning. It was lovely really peaceful. They have a 15 metre tall golden Buddha, pretty impressive. I also sat in on some monks chanting. The older ones where belting it out but some of the young novices were sitting in the back messing or sleeping, every so often one of the senior monks would turn around to hush them. it was so funny.
The people here are funny, especially the older people when you are walking down the street they will smile and nod and say Hello. Initially I was all paranoid and thought that it was a ruse to distract while an elderly knife wielding woman slashed my bag, but no. I think they just look on foreginers as being novelties. So now I am walking down the street nodding and say hello to everyone. Crazy Irish girl with big silly eyes.
Took loads more photos but forgot my cable so will wait and download them when i get to Beijing. Where by the way I am cheating a bit, I have cancelled my booking in the traditional Chinese tin hut and upgraded to the Hyatt. I'm not even going to start justifying it!
To tell the truth I am a little apprehensive about joining up with the tour. It's not that I'm getting odd and the company will be the main advantage. But I have gotten this far on my own steam, and I'm kinda self sufficient and am good at getting things done. Sometimes i think that tours like that are more for helpless novices, recently divorced people and old people, in other words who want to travel but don't want to have to deal with crap and hassle of travelling. I suppose I'll have to just go with the flow and I can always vent here.
