I've made a bit of a balls of my travel plans ...

Before I start: American guy explaining to Chinese man how Hong Kong being part of China is just like in Britain the way they have England and errrrr Whales and well Australia!!! Like the passenger on the three gorges trip who asked the guide if the bill boards along the banks were protest signs, or the guest in the restaurant who asked the waitress what did they call the Hong Kong dollar ... People
Anyway have made a bit of a balls of my travel plans and it looks like i am going to end up back in Beijing. I am heading to Shanghai on Friday just to see it for a couple of nights and then onto Hangzhou. And then i was planning on going to Hanoi, but there is no direct train from Shanghai to Hanoi, the only real way i can get there is to either come back to Hong Kong and fly (there is no direct train from Hong Kong to Hanoi either) or go back to Beijing and get a train ... the train option is cheaper a lot cheaper, so i think i will have to do that. The trains only leave twice a week, so the minute i get to Shanghai I will have to book that. I really want to go to Shanghai as I kind of think that going to China and not visiting Shanghai is like going to the States and not visiting New York.
